Woman dies of gunshot wound in Thusivillage

A 42-year-old woman died after being shot in the abdomen in Thusivillage on Monday morning.

Police spokesman for Ermelo, Capt Carla Prinsloo, siad Mpumalanga Emergency Services personnel were called to the scene where they found that the woman had already succumb to her wound.

The police were summoned and found the body of the woman lying on a bed.

The women’s partner was questioned and he alleged that a group of men had attacked them while they were walking home the previous night.

Police then found a firearm and a cartridge shell on the scene.

A suspect has since been arrested and appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder.
