Ermelo police are investigating a charge of attempted murder after a brother allegedly fired at his sister in Cwebezela on Saturday afternoon, 27 January.

According to police spokesman, Capt Carla Prinsloo, the incident took place at 4pm when the 30-year-old woman and her brother (36) had an argument over a missing goat.

It is alleged that one of their goats went missing and the woman accused her brother of selling it.

The police said the brother got angry, took out his firearm and allegedly fired one shot in her direction.

He missed and was arrested.

He appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 29 January on a charge of attempted murder.
