Top 10 things that South Africans stress about

According to the study, only 33% of South Africans believe the nation is on the right track. This is a 19% drop from the peak in March when this was the view of 52% of South Africans. This peak percentage was around the time that Cyril Ramaphosa became the president.

The study is based on over 21 000 surveys which were conducted between 20 April and 4 May 2018 among a representative portion of adults aged 18-64. Results show that the majority (58%) of people around the world think things in their country are on the wrong track.

Financial/political corruption currently occupies the top spot for global concern with 35% of people listing it as their major concern.

Top concerns for people around the world according to the study:

South Africa is on par with these international concerns and stands behind Peru and Malaysia as one of the countries with the highest percentage of concerns around financial/political corruption (60%). Other concerns also include unemployment and jobs (57%), and crime and violence (58%). The two lowest worries were climate change (2%) and access to credit (1%).
